WordPress.com SSL is now blocked in Iran
Thursday December 27, 2007 at 10:44 pm | In Iran, censorship, internet, web, wordpress.com |Iranian government’s central Internet-blocking software now blocks WordPress.com SSL requests. Iranian internet users used to access blocked weblogs on WordPress.com through their HTTPS address (e.g https://blogname.wordpress.com instead of http://blogname.wordpress.com). It seems that they block all requests for WordPress.com IP’s on port 443 (port used for secure connections). Because of such restrictive method, even unblocked weblogs on WordPress.com can not be accessed through SSL.

does the ban concerns the whole wordpress.com platform or only specific blogs the service hosts?

I have never been to Iran, but have seen it in the distance from Iraq three times in my life. Here is a connection which provides links to a seven part series I posted on Iran. If you ever have the time and inclination, you might let me know what you think of it -
